The key to great faith

John 14:12 New King James Version (NKJV)
“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.”

You can live in the supernatural power of God! Not because of your personal holiness or because you’re such good person but because of the grace of God on your life! His grace has made you holy without any effort on your part – it’s the grace of God which causes you to live in the supernatural power of God. We should be living in the supernatural. Jesus was supernatural and if we’re going to live like Jesus then we need to live supernatural lives. And here’s some good news: a supernatural life is not something that takes effort; it is something that takes surrender. All you need to do is surrender to the Holy Spirit and surrender to the truth of the Word concerning your identity as a Christian. Many Christians are not living supernatural lives simply because they can’t accept the fact that they can do nothing to be right with God because God has made them right with Him. As Christians, we need to accept the fact that God has made us completely righteous.

We need to stop trying to attain a certain level of righteousness through our actions. Righteousness (right-standing with God) isn’t about our actions; it’s an identity issue. You did nothing to be a sinner except be born – “sinner” was your nature. You cannot change your nature unless you put your faith in Jesus and be born-again – then your sin-nature dies and you receive a brand new (2 Corinthians 5:17) righteous nature. You cannot “do” to become a “sinner” or “saint”, but your nature drives you either to sin or righteousness. Therefore, many Christians have an identity issue. A Christian who is living in sin has an identity issue. A Christian not living in the supernatural power of God has an identity issue. They do not know or have not believed what God says about them in His Word!

2 Corinthians 5:21 New King James Version (NKJV)
For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

Knowing your righteousness in Christ (not in your actions but as a result of what Jesus has done for you) will bring bold faith in your life. Knowing your righteousness will cause you to boldly lay hands on the sick and see them healed! If you ever want to be able to be used by God to heal someone or raise the dead you will need a boldness and a confidence that can only come from knowing that you are 100% right with God because of faith in Jesus and what He has done for you.

Proverbs 28:1 New King James Version (NKJV)
“The wicked flee when no one pursues,
But the righteous are bold as a lion.”

There’s a timidity in the person who doesn’t know who they are in Christ but when you know who you are in Christ – when you know your true identity that you have right standing with God – it produces a boldness and confidence in you and it enables you to start living like Jesus! You are empowered to confidently love people and step out and see the supernatural power of God in manifestation in healing, signs, wonders and miracles!

The very moment that you say “yes” to Jesus and become a Christian you become 100% right with God! You have perfect right-standing before God which cannot fluctuate, ever. Yes, in your actions and in your thoughts,  you’ll fall short, sin and make mistakes (you won’t always think or act like Jesus) but your spirit is always 100% like Jesus. We should be learning to live from the spirit-man not from our carnality or from our emotions. Too many Christians are either carnal in that they live by what they feel or what they experience when we should be living by the Word of God. The word of God shows us what we are like in the spirit and when we see who we are in the spirit and accept it, it is enabled to rise up and live according to our new nature in Christ.

As Christians, we need to stop trying to attain to righteousness and simply accept the fact that Jesus has made us right. It’s all about what Jesus did what for us – what He sacrificed to make us right with God. We could never make ourselves right with God. The message of the gospel isn’t that Jesus forgave you so that you can try harder! The message of the gospel is that Jesus forgave you of all your sins and made you 100% right with God and all you need to do is accepted it by faith!

Romans 5:1-2 New King James Version (NKJV)
“Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.”

We have been justified (made just as if we’ve never sinned) by faith, not by works! And as a result, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. We’ve been made right with God and now we can have confidence we can have a boldness to enter into His grace and to experience His goodness and His blessing and favour! You can lay hands on the sick and see them recover simply because you believe that He qualifies you and makes you right with Him, and all you’re doing is believing it! We shouldn’t rely on our own efforts and rightness. We should rely on Jesus and His goodness; we should rely on what He has done for us and not on what we’re doing for Him. When we understand our righteousness it unlocks great faith in our lives and causes us to live in boldness and in confidence, that will cause us to see the miraculous power of God in manifestation in our lives.
