Christmas Reflections – December, 5

“Then Mary said to the angel, “How can this be, since I do not know a man?” And the angel answered and said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God. Now indeed, Elizabeth your relative has also conceived a son in her old age; and this is now the sixth month for her who was called barren. For with God nothing will be impossible.”
Luke 1:34-37 NKJV

Christmas is a great reminder that nothing is impossible with God. There were so many miraculous things concerning Jesus’ birth – prophecies of His birth hundreds of years before it happened; angelic appearances to many different people; a virgin conception and birth; a unique star which pointed to the birthplace of Jesus and led people from the east to come and welcome Him with gifts and worship; and so much more! There is nothing normal about what we celebrate at Christmas!

Without God there are many things that are not possible – but thank God we are not without Him and therefore nothing is impossible for us!

What impossibility are you currently facing? Is it a health issue or a financial challenge? Does it seem like nothing is working out with your business? Are relational issues keeping you up at night and even causing health issues? Has the doctor told you that you’ll never have children? It doesn’t matter what impossibility it is that you’re facing, because God is with you (Hebrews 13:5) and He is for you (Romans 8:31). Therefore there are no impossibilities – only opportunities for miracles!

Look to God, trust in Him and don’t give up hope.
