Destined to Influence

“You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its taste, it cannot be made salty again. Salt is useless if it loses its salty taste. It will be thrown out where people will just walk on it. “You are the light that shines for the world to see. You are like a city built on a hill that cannot be hidden.”
Matthew 5:13-14 ERV
You are destined to be an influencer. As a new creation in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:21) you are now salt and light in the world. When light shines, darkness retreats. And one of the purposes of salt is to add flavour – you are the flavour in a tasteless world. You are destined to influence the world and help make it a better place.

“Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.”
2 Corinthians 5:20 KJV
You are an ambassador of Jesus Christ. God has chosen you to speak for Him and be His representative in the earth – that’s influence! You are called and commissioned to influence people for God. God wants to work through you to influence others for good. This is part of your destiny!

We all have a sphere of influence – people we come into contact with whom we can influence. For God so loved your sphere of influence that He sent them you! You are not the total answer to everyone’s problems, but as a Christian you have the total answer to everyone’s problems: Jesus! Think about it: what does God want to do in the lives of the people around you? Christ in you is more than able to help those around you, bless them and enrich their lives. As a representative of Christ, the way in which you act towards others should reflect the way that Jesus would act towards them. That’s love and grace.
