The normal Christian life is a supernatural life! It’s a life that’s marked by signs, wonders and miracles. It’s a life where other people wonder why you’re so full of joy when tragedy hits; they wonder why you’re not falling apart as they would have.
Jesus said (John 14:12) that because we believe in Him we can do the same work said He did and even greater works. We need to start living the normal Christian life – a life like Jesus! The normal Christian life will be weird to people in the world but it should be completely normal for believers. With the testimony I shared yesterday about the accident we witnessed, and how I went to the injured and spoke like and wholeness immediately – it didn’t look like he would make it. If you had watched it you may have thought that he would have died, had a broken bone or two or even got brain damage. When I came on the scene I didn’t get into a panic and I didn’t get emotional. I didn’t cry out to God loudly or do anything that many people would do in a situation like that. All I did was kneel down on the road next to him, put my hands on his shoulders, look at him in the eye and say, “In the name of Jesus, you will live and not die. In the name of Jesus, there will be nothing damaged and you will recover completely, now.” And everything happened like I said it would. He walked out of that situation with only a few scratches; a minor wound on his hand and minor cut on his lip. I checked up on him after he went to the hospital and he was completely fine; no brain damage, no problems. Yet, this man’s helmet flew straight off his head from the impact. He came out of a bad situation with hardly any problems!
You may be thinking that this is only for some super saints – people who are really close to God! I’ve already covered those issues in a previous devotional showing you that we are all Saints! We are all close to God and filled with the miraculous power of God. We should all be living like Jesus!
Romans 8:11 English Standard Version (ESV)
If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.
You’ve got the resurrection power of God living inside of you. Do you realize this? You’ve got the Holy Spirit living inside of you and He is giving life to your mortal body – that means that your body should be in better shape than any unbeliever no matter how good they eat and exercise! Your health should exceed those in the world because you’ve got the Spirit of God living inside of you! This verse says that “the spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead…” so this is talking about the same spirit that raised Jesus from the dead. This Spirit and power are living inside of you! That same power that raised Jesus from the dead is alive in you and is transferring and transmitting life and power into your mortal (physical) body. You should be strong, healthy and whole because He is alive in you! We need to be meditating on that and it needs to become our default mindset.
We have two inheritances – that of Adam and Jesus. Romans 5 shows us that the inheritance of Adam is death and all that came as a result of the fall. But we have much more in Christ! We need to stop associating with Adam and His inheritance (of death, sickness, lack, depression etc.) and we need to start associating ourselves with Christ and His inheritance (of abundant life, peace, health, provision etc.) because we’re now in His bloodline and family! There is no longer any curse on us because we are in Christ! We need to start seeing ourselves as God sees us. We need to start believing what the Word says about us. We need to start stepping out in accordance with the Word of God! We can, and should, rise up and start living in resurrection power. When we do, people will look at us and say, “how is it that you’re living like that?” and we can respond saying, “It’s all Jesus!”
