The aim of this podcast is to help you to live your life from God's free-flowing grace because that's where the true strength of the Christian life comes from. That's where the life of victory comes from. Most of us think that victory comes from having good self-discipline or of being a strong individual, of having self-control. But that's not where our strength comes from. As believers, our strength comes from the grace of God. The grace of God isn't just some kind of mystical concept. It's a power which unlocks the abundant life and a life of victory. And that is what we're focusing in on in these podcasts: living in victory and how to reign and rule in this life.

Too many believers put more faith in what Adam did and the inheritance that we got from Adam, which is sin, sickness, failure, defeat, lack, all of that. Uh, most of us have more faith in that, in the negative than we have faith in what Jesus has done for us. The inheritance we have in Christ is the restoration of everything that Adam lost and much more! If you read through Romans chapter five, it continuously uses the phrase “much more”: this is what Adam did, but much more the grace of God… much more what Jesus did for us. It just shows us that what Jesus did is much stronger than what Adam did. Therefore, we need to stop identifying with Adam and start identifying with Jesus because there's victory in Jesus, but there's only defeat and Adam. In Adam, it's up to us to perform and to have the power to live a good life. But you know, in Christ, we are empowered to live a life of victory. He empowers us to live a holy life and to live right. We need to stop identifying with Adam because now the old man is dead, as a Galatians 2:20 says, and now we're new creations in Christ Jesus (2 Corinthians 5:17) says, the old is gone and the new has come. When it says, the old is gone. It's talking about the sinful nature. It's talking about all that was subject to the world, subject to Adam, subject to defeat, and all of that is now gone. All of that should no longer be our default because now, in Christ, we have much more than we could ever imagine. And you know, it's sad to say that most Christians don't live up to what God has freely provided for us. And the reason for that is we are the don't know what we've got in Christ or we don't believe it or we just don't know how to live in it.

I think that the majority of Christians aren't living in victory simply because we've got so much bad teaching throughout the body of Christ on how we have to suffer through life. How we have to push through and strive, and try our best to live in victory, but it's not guaranteed. And one day when we die, then we have ultimate victory. Amen! One day when we die, we definitely have ultimate victory. But God's will for us is that we reign and rule in this life, not just in the life to come.

So starting off in Romans 5:15, I love how the passion puts us, it says, now, there is no comparison between Adam's transgression and the gracious gift that we experience. So this is basically saying that you cannot compare Adam's sin, failure and inheritance to what we now have in Christ. What we have in Christ is much, much, much more than what we had an Adam. The magnitude of the gift far outweighs the crime. That's what it says. The magnitude of the gift far outweighs the crime.

What we have in the payment for our sin is much more than was necessary. If your debt was 100 bucks, then you know, a, a billion rands or dollars or whatever currency you're using was paid into your account. And now you don't just have an account at a zero, you now have a surplus, you have an abundance. And that's what it's talking about with regard to the abundant life. You now have a life of abundance and it's not just talking about money, it refers to joy and peace and all of that. So let's continue reading that. It says that many died because of one man's transgression (speaking of Adam), but how much greater will God's grace and the gracious gift of acceptance overflow too many because of what one man, Jesus, the Messiah did for us.

This is powerful. It's saying that what we have in Christ is far greater – grace is far greater than sin! If all your sin is the size of a drop of water, then grace is like the ocean around the whole world, the Indian, the Atlantic, the Pacific altogether – that's the payment of grace! And sin is just a drop in the ocean, it just gets overtaken by grace. We have been overtaken by grace. All we need to do is receive that grace in order to experience that grace. And then that is the power to set us free, to be able to enable us to live a life of victory and live the abundant life. Because then we realize that we don't do it in our own strength, but we do it in his strength! Because we’re in Him, we can live a life of victory and we can rule and reign. That's powerful.
