We all want to be operating in strong faith, but faith is not evident by results. Yes, we want to see the results of our faith but we must not judge our faith (or anyone else’s) by results. Faith is evident by something else… and we will look at that in a moment but first, let’s look at how to operate in strong faith.
Hebrews 1:3 King James Version (KJV)
“Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person…”
You need to come to know the true nature of God as revealed in the Bible and especially through the life of Jesus as recorded in the Gospels. Jesus is the “express image” or exact replica of Father God. If you look at Jesus and how He lived and interacted with people on earth during His earthly ministry, you can see the heart of the Father (John 14:9). Jesus never did anything that God would not do (John 5:19). For example, Jesus never put sickness on anyone, therefore God never puts sickness on anyone. What has this got to do with faith? Well, if you know God’s heart for you it will help you to stand in faith. If you are unsure of God’s desire to heal you or bless you or protect you, then it will not result in any faith-filled prayer! When you know God’s heart for you (unconditional love) it will enable you to operate in strong faith.
2 Corinthians 5:21 King James Version (KJV)
“For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.”
If you want to operate in strong faith you need to accept the truth that in Christ you are now 100% righteous; 100% right before God. If you know that you’re right with God because of Jesus and not because of your performance, then it will enable faith in your life. It will cause you to come to God with boldness and confidence (Proverbs 28:1; Hebrews 4:16).
Romans 10:17 King James Version (KJV)
“So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”
In context, the “Word of God” is referring to the gospel. Faith comes by hearing the gospel. The gospel is the message of what Jesus has done for us and freely offers us.
Romans 1:17 King James Version (KJV)
“For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.”
The message of God making us righteous by faith is found in the gospel! That’s why faith is ignited and grows as you hear the gospel: the message of what Jesus has done to make you right with God by faith!
The more convinced you are that by faith in what Jesus has done for you, you are made right with God and stand before Him as 100% innocent, then the greater faith you will operate in!
